Site Setting Out / Site Engineering

Resect Engineering Solutions specialise in high quality ‘Site Setting Out’ particularly within the UK piling industry

As your Setting Out provider, you as the Client can be rest assured that your Setting out needs will be taken care of by an experienced and dedicated team at Resect. We will ensure that all current drawings are of the latest revisions and continue to liaise with you throughout the project to make sure that it runs as smoothly as possible. From initial instruction we will ensure that substantial office checks are carried out on all issued schedules and layout information, advising of any possible errors. Once we have confirmation that we have no issues we will proceed to email the design data to our Site Engineer to download to our Leica survey equipment.

Coordinate listings and Layouts can be digitally uploaded and downloaded using our bespoke data management systems and is fully compatible with our Leica instrumentation. Throughout the project our Site Managers are in close contact with the appropriate sources to make sure that our Engineers are continually working to the correct drawing revisions.

All projects are supported with an as-built survey issued to the client, generally this is issued at the end of each week to confirm site progress and any positional issues or if preferred can just be issued at the end of the project for record purposes. These are issued in excel/PDF & DWG format with the easy to follow Traffic Light System which makes viewing data simplistic to follow and understand.

Site Procedures/Instrumentation

Resect are not an agency, all its staff take a very personal interest in their assigned projects, as a Company we feel it is important to try to keep continuity by using the same engineers, where possible, from start to finish on any project. The purpose of our procedure is to provide a systematic method of controlling the site setting out of works for you the Client, this procedure applies to all our personnel involved in the setting out of works for which the Company is responsible.

Resect will ensure that all instrumentation used on site for setting out purposes shall be checked for accuracy (or calibrated) prior to use, or evidence provided confirming that this has already been done. ie (calibration certificate).

Checks for accuracy (or calibrations) shall be performed on equipment in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations or as required by the project engineer/client.

Leica Instrumentation

Resect use the latest Leica iCON instrumentation in both GPS and Robotic formats.

iCon

Leica iCON iCR70 + iCR80 Robotic Total Station.

The Leica iCON iCR70 and iCR80 robotic total stations are the most productive one-person layout solution for construction professionals. This intuitive solution delivers fast prism search, locks and re-locks onto the prism and delivers the most reliable, simple and automated setup routine. Thanks to the industry’s most reliable prism lock you never lose lock. With the iCON build layout object app integrated into the solution users benefit from a unique handling of fully rendered 3D design models in the field including the flexible creation of layout work packages for effective work progress management.

Leica iCON GPS 70 Series.

For construction professionals, Leica Geosystems has the most efficient GNSS rovers, the Leica iCON GPS 70 Series. With the iCON GPS 70 T there is no need to hold the pole vertical when taking measurements. Full traceability by storing tilt values with each measurement improves the quality control of any measured point. The permanent tilt compensation extends your measurement possibilities, improves quality and accuracy of our collected data as well as eliminating critical errors as levelling the bubble is no longer necessary.

The combination of the latest GNSS technology and inertial measurement unit (IMU) equips the iCON GPS 70 T with permanent tilt compensation and makes it resistant to any magnetic interference. Being fully calibration-free, the iCON GPS 70 T is ready anytime, anywhere.
