Soil Nailing

Providing the Setting Out for Soil Nailing works is somewhat more complex due to the fact works are generally carried out on a sloped face and driving the nail in on an angle. With our latest Leica instrumentation, you can now easily find the correct insertion point providing you have the known design start/end point for each position the program will automatically calculate any known point on that line.

Soil nailing is a ground stabilisation technique that can be used on either natural or excavated slopes. It involves drilling holes for steel bars to be inserted into a slope face which are then grouted in place. Mesh is attached to the bar ends to hold the slope face in position. They are commonly used as a remedial measure to stabilize embankments.
