Thurrock Council tasked Kier with carrying out a 4 year widening scheme on the A13. The project involved increasing from two to three lanes in both directions along with replacing four bridges and remodelling the Orsett Cock roundabout. The aim of the project was to increase the capacity and accommodate traffic signals to enable safer traffic flow whilst also improving the arterial route linking London to several major ports within the Port of London area.
As part of this Keller were contracted to carry out the Piling works required on four new bridges including all 8 bridge abutments, 2 bridge piers and a King Post retaining wall. Resect’s dedicated engineers provided Keller with all setting out, verticality monitoring and precise cage levelling to meet strict tolerances. Our contribution extended into working continuously through a weekend to help overcome the challenges faced and reduce the number of overnight closures required further into the project.
Across four phases Resect once again provided a valued client with an unrivalled service which has assisted them in delivering the high standards necessary when improving the country’s infrastructure.
